Darlis Jeanette Tanner was born in 1936. She died in 1937, at age ~1.

Darlis was born premature in the Geisinger hospital in Danville,Pa.The only child of Frank and Carrie born in a hospital. She only lived 3 months. She was buried in Hendrickson`s cemetary in an unmarked grave at the top of the hill near the fence. The fence is now gone. Clarence was in the army and never saw his sister. So he named his own daughter Darlis.

Toussaint Ursin Schexnayder was born about 1886 in Louisiana.^1,2,3 He and Natalie Simon were married on 2 February 1907 in Crowley, La., Kai Hebert Cemetary, Crowley La. He died on 7 May 1940, at age ~54.

Toussaint Ursin Schexnayder was also known as Blanc. He was also known as Ursin Schexnayder.¹ There's a lot of misinformation on the internet about Ursin/Tussin.
I've attached the 1940 Census to this record showing that at least on the census, he went by Tussin and not Ursin.

There is an Ursin Schexneider, but he was married to Alphonsine and had a daughter named Ida.. definitely not this person. I have yet to find where Ursin actually fits into the Schexnayder/Schexneider line, but I will eventually.

The Lousiana State Death Index has an entry for Ursin Shoksneider / Natilia Simon. The death is a baby girl named "Avey Shoksneider", born dead on 07 April 1921 in Morse, Acadia, La. This seems to coincidental to be a different Natalie Simon. This childs death would have been approx. 1 year prior to Rena Schexnayder being born.

This has to be Tussin / Ursin, but I'm confused again about the differences in spelling as it clearly says "Tussin" on the 1940 Census.
I can only assume the census taker in 1940 misunderstood Ursin's name as Tussin.

Update 06/22/2024: I spoke to Kathy Oliver, the step-daughter of John Ogden and Ursin's grand daughter. According to her, "Tussin" was likely a misspelling due to Ursin's accent. His first name was Toussaint, pronounced To Sahn.. leading to the phonetic spelling by the census taker of Tussin. He was born in 1887 in Premeauville, LA. He resided in Police Jury Ward 3, Livingston, Louisiana, USA, in 1900 Marital Status: Single; Relation to Head of House: Son.² He resided in Rural, Jeff Davis, Louisiana, in 1935.¹ He resided in Crowley, Acadia, Louisiana, USAG, on 1 April 1940 Age: 54; Marital Status: Married; Relation to Head of House: Head.¹

Her baptism record is in Abbeville Church Vol.6 #166. Info on Natalie Simon and her ancestors came from Greg Simon (meanceprimeaux@knology.net) on 10/7/2002.

He got the birth dates from the Abbyville Church Records,DOB: 8/10/1890 and DOD: 2/18/1978, however, these may be baptism dates, not actual birthdates.

After finding her tombstone, I've updated her DOB and DOD to what is listed on the tombstone.
