In the name of God Amen I Philip Flick of Hemlock Township in the County of Northumberland in the state of Pennsylavania being sick in Body but of a sound mind and memory and understanding blessed me God for the same do make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form following. Principally and first of all I commend my Immortal soul into the hands of God who gave it and my Body to the earth to be Burried in a decent and Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executor herein after named and as to such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life. I give and dispose of the same in the following manner to wit I give and devise unto my dear beloved wife Anna Maria during her widowhood or life if she remains my widow on Bedstead and the beddings thereto belonging, the young cow & heffer, one tin plated pipe stove, one Iron Kettle, one Iron Pot to her choice, one spinning wheel, Hay and straw sufficient feed for her Cattle, one wooden or Ceder Bail smooth Irons as also two skillets as also two pewter Table dishes as also yearly and every year one hundred and fifty punds of Hogs meat and fifty punds of Beef and yearly one bushel of coarse salt and one peck of fine salt and yearly five punds of coffee half a pound of green tea and eight pounds of good sugar as also one third in the garden and potaties of one quarter of an acre yearly & every year as also twelve Bushel of Rye Six Bushels of wheat six Bushel of corn and six bushel of buck wheat yearly and every year as also sufficient shoes and stockings and yearly and every year the flax of one quarter of an acre of ground Item my will is that the grain before mentioned shall be taken to the mill and the meal home again without any charge for the same Item my will is that my beloved wife Anna Maria shall live in the same dwelling house wherein I now live during her widowhood with my sons herein after named and if they cannot live together in peace then and in such cases my sons that possesses my land must build her a good house for her and well finished upon their own expenses and must cut and haul her sufficient firewood before the door fit for immediate use and if my wife should fall sick or helpless them my sons John and Ludwig must nurse her in the best manner or must hire some body upon their own expences to do the same, further I give and devise unto my beloved wife Anna Maria one coffee kettle one small pot and one lattle one chair and one chest Item my will is and I do hereby order that if my wife Anna Maria shall contract matrimony after my decease then and in such cases she shall absolutely have no more out of my estate than her bedstead and beddings thereto belongin and one cow and her spinning wheel Item my will is and I do hereby order that everything I did give and devise of my personal Estate (excepting the grain) after the decease of marriage which happens first of my beloved wife Anna Maria the same I give and devise unto my sons Anthony Daniel and Daughter Maria to be equally divided among them Item my will is and I do hereby Order that all the residue of my personal Estate not before devised shall be exposed on publick sale to pay my just debts and funeral expences and if there is any overplus then the same I give and devise unto my son John and Ludwig Item I give and devise unto my son John and Ludwig all my Real property in equal shares amongst them to hold the same to them their heirs and assigns forever and instead to possess my real property my said son John & Ludwig shall in every line fulfill every thing formerly devised unto my beloved wife Anna Maria and shall further pay unto their other brothers Anthony & Daniel and sister Maria each the sum of twenty Pounds that is to say twenty pounds of Lawful money unto my son Anthony twelve month after my decease and twenty pounds sd. money unto my son Daniel two years after my Decease and twenty pounds unto my daughter Maria three years after my decease Item my will further is that when my two sons to sell that part of Land whereon my son John do now lives that then and in such cases they shall pay unto my beloved wife Anna maria the sum of six pounds and likewise my beloved wife Anna Maria shall further have all the linnen we have at present for her own use and also my said two sons John and Ludwig shall find a good stable for the cattles devised to my beloved wife Anna Maria and further that when any apples do grow on my place now in my possession and devised to my son John & Ludwig then and in such cases they must allow unto her mother apples for house use and dryd apples as also a half a barrel of syder yearly if the apples grew and she remains my widow but not otherways and lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my beloved friend John Lilly of Hemlock Township to be the Executor of this my Last will and Testament and do give him full power and authority to sign seal and execute all deeds of conveyance unto my sons John & Ludwig as I could do myself if I were present and give him further power to act and to do as an Executor ought to do according to law hereby revoking all other Wills Legacies and bequests by me heretofor made and declaring this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof the said Testator have hereunto set his hand and seal this nineteenth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine -- 1809 Signed Sealed published pronounced and declared by the said Testator as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presents and at his request have subscribed as witnesses Philip Flick (Seal). Norbury, Deputy Register for the county afsd. personally appeared. George George one of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing writing who being duly sworn accouding to Law deposeth and saith that he was personally present and did see Philip Flick the Testator sign seal and declare the foregoing writing to be his last will and Testament and that at the time of his so pulishing the said Will he was of sound & disposing mind and memory as this deponent doth believe according to the best of his knowledge & belief and that the name George George thereto subscribed is of this deponents own proper hand writing and that the other subscribing witness George Gruber signed his name thereto in his this deponents presence and in the presence of the Testator & further saith not George George Sworn & Subscribed the data afsd. before Josh. B. Norbury Deputy Regr. Northd. County as Be it remembered that on the 18th day of October AD 1809 Before me Joseph B. Norbury Deputy Register for the County of Northd. personally appeared George Gruber one of the subscribing witnesses to the within writing who being duly sworn doth depose and say that he was personally present & did see Philip Flick the Testator sign seal & declare the within instrument of writing to be his last Will & Testament and at the time of his so publishing the same he was of sound and disposing mind & memory as this deponent doth believe according to the best of his skill and judgment and that the name George Gruber thereto subscribed is the proper hand writing of this deponent and that the other subscribing witness George George signed his name to the same in the presence of this Deponent & in the presence and at the request of the Testator & further saith not George Gruber Sworn & subscribed before
