CROWLEY - Funeral services were held Sunday, April 17 at 2 p.m. in St. John the Baptist Church in Lyons Point for Wilbert Schexnayder, 77, who died Friday, April 15, 2005 at Lafayette General Hospital. Burial was in the church cemetery. A rosary was recited Saturday, April 16 at 7 p.m. at the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa B. Schexnayder of Morse; three daughters, Dorothy S. and Richard Suire of Estherwood, Mary S. and Larry Vincent of Mermentau Cove, Earline Schexnayder of Lyons Point; three sons, Chester and Margaret Schexnayder of Youngsville, Wilfred and Gloria Schexnayder of Kaplan and Edward Schexnayder of Lyons Point; two brothers, Thompon Schexnayder of Crowley and Evnis Schexnayder of Crowley; one sister, Lena S. Breaux of Crowley; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Mr. Schexnayder was preceded in death by one daughter, Marline Schexnayder, his parents, Avnel and Evelina L. Schexnayder, six brothers, one half-brother and five sisters.

Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of arrangements.
